The Office of Residential Life strives to create a safe and welcoming environment for all students by engaging our residents on topics related to diversity and inclusion, faith and spirituality, responsible social activities, and academics. We invite you to learn more about the residential living experience at Boston College through our website.


Each spring the Office of Residential Life manages the returning student room selection process. New first year and transfer students are housed during the winter or summer and do not participate in the room selection process. Students can check their housing eligibility by calling Student Services or emailing All students with housing assignments should review our Housing Cancellation Fee and Refund Policy


The Office of Residential Life manages early arrival and extension requests. For more information on arrival and extension dates, deadlines, and eligibility factors, click here

Students officially requesting an additional semester or year of housing outside their original guarantee will need to fill out an appeal form on the Agora Portal. Appeals are designed to accommodate students with documented medical or financial hardships that would make living off-campus exceedingly difficult. For more information, click here

Students can place their faciltities work order requests online on the Agora Portal.


Current and perspective off-campus students can search and post housing and roommate profile listings on our off-campus apartment and roommate finder database. The service is free for students, faculty, and staff with active BC usernames.
