Management and Organization

The Management and Organization Department includes faculty who study the human component of organizations and focus on how to effectively manage and develop strategy for all types of organizations.  Most managers recognize that leadership, communication, organization design, organization change, and other aspects of organizational and strategic studies are critical competencies for success. The Management and Organization Department offers undergraduate concentrations in Leadership and Entrepreneurship (co-concentration), a minor in Management and Leadership (for A&S students) and MBA concentrations in Leadership and Management, and a PhD in Organization Studies.

Academy of Management 2017

New faculty member, Professor Curtis Chan, received the Academy of Management Annals Best Article award for his co-authored AOM Annals paper with Michel Anteby and Julia DiBenigno named "Three Lenses on Occupations and Professions in Organizations".

Professor Simona Giorgi & Professor Richard Nielsen received a "Finalist Commendation" for the "2017 Best Business Ethics Award" from the Academy of Management Social Issues in Management Division for their paper, "Mine and Yours: Ethics Discourse Framing and Situational Appropriateness."
