Catherine Read, Ph.D., RN is an associate professor at the Connell School of Nursing. Her areas of expertise include adult health, pathophysiology, nursing education, and topics in genomics. Dr. Read’s current research involves genomic competence of the healthcare workforce, safe care for hospitalized adult patients, and leadership development, diversity, and innovation in baccalaureate nursing education. She founded CSON’s “Keys to Inclusive Leadership in Nursing” (KILN) program in 2009. Dr. Read was elected to the ISONG (International Society of Nurses in Genetics) aBoard of Directors in 2016 and will serve as its President in 2019. She is a consultant on a National League for Nursing grant to develop the Genomic Nursing Cyberhub, a web-based repository to provide educational and research support for genomic nursing education.
